Description

When it comes to rarity and desirability in the muscle car world, factory options and ownership history are two of the main factors that can drive a car to an all-new level of collectability. Offered from Worldwide’s Private Sale Gallery comes this truly special and highly optioned 1967 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS Coupe that carries everything one would want and more in a classic muscle car. A car that has hardly seen the road in its 55 years of life carries just over 33,500 miles on the odometer, which are believed to be actual but are exempt due to the age of the vehicle. To some, it may be hard to believe this Camaro has only traveled 33,500 miles, but there is a good reason for that. Having been in the stewardship of a single owner for 47 years, it was his prized possession among his 50 other vehicles, as he had bought it shortly after getting his driver’s license.

Delivered to Graves Chevrolet in Chillicothe, Illinois on January 14th, 1967, this Camaro was unlike almost any other in his showroom and maybe even the country. This Deluxe Sport Coupe came with the RS package, which of course included hideaway headlamps and a racing stripe across the nose of the front end. Along with that, it is also a Super Sport edition which means it is equipped with a 295-horsepower 350-cubic-inch Turbo-fire V-8 engine that is backed by an automatic transmission. Now onto the long and exciting list of everything this special Camaro left the factory with, like power steering, power brakes, power windows, a tilt steering column, a vinyl roof that is reported to have never been replaced, a deluxe interior, glove box lamp and under-hood lamp, drivers side remote outside mirror, Delco AM/FM radio, rear spoiler, tinted glass, air-conditioning, rare cruise control, and an even rarer factory option fold-down rear seat.

The Tuxedo Black paint exhibits a nice shine throughout, the sheet metal is straight, and the panel gaps appear to be in very good condition. Though it presents quite well, it is noted there are a few chips and cracks toward the nose of the vehicle around the edges and the hood gaps. The body sits on well-kept Goodyear Integrity white line tires that add a nice touch to its overall appearance. Adding to its desirability, the next owner will be happy to know it comes with its original owner’s manual, optional accessories manual and the very important and original Protect-O-Plate, all of which are in its GM plastic pouch. With an array of rare factory options that are hardly all seen on a singular ’67 Camaro, this RS/SS Coupe with its long-term ownership history is bound to wow onlookers and be a one-of-a-kind muscle car when being displayed and driven on the strip.
