Edelbrock E-Force supercharged Coyote V-8 engine, 4R70 six-speed automatic transmission, TCI chassis with show package chrome arms, Wilwood power disc brakes
To celebrate Ford’s 50th anniversary in 1953, the head office decided to roll out the second-generation Ford F100 pickup truck for public sale. The new and improved design went unchanged until 1956 where it would receive a few upgrades. When growing demand rose across the nation for the 1955 Chevy Task Force Pickup, Ford knew that the last year for production of the second-generation F100 pickup had to be the best it could possibly be. The most noticeable exterior changes were the “full wrap” front windshield that extended over the door panels to increase the field of vision. The rear window was also replaced with a “full wrap” window that extends through the rear of the cab. The two new window options drove the 1956 model to new sales heights, making it a highly sought-after pickup truck in today’s market, because the “full wrap” windows were only offered for that one year of production.
Only adding to the collector value of the already highly sought-after ‘56 Ford Pickup, this truck was turned into a modern-day custom that was professionally built and commands attention. From the Pristine Collection of Eric McConnell, it is no surprise that no corners were cut on this fresh-to-the-market build. Starting with the Edelbrock E-Force supercharged Coyote V-8 under the hood, to the modern 4R70 six-speed automatic transmission, and the TCI chassis with show package chrome arms, this custom build has been updated to modern-day standards. The truck’s body was restored and rechromed, but kept its classic 1956 stock appearance, while the exterior was painted in a white over gray two-tone paint job that really brings the outside together. Along with the custom paint and chrome finished Billet Specialties wheels, top-of-the-line Wilwood disc brakes and calipers have been added. The stock bed of the truck has also been replaced with a gorgeous woodgrain finish and chrome plating.
Under the hood is the extremely clean E-Force supercharged V-8 with chrome plating throughout the engine bay. Many other custom speed parts have been added to help increase horsepower and appearance. Following suit with the elaborate build, the interior of the cab has been completely customized. Finished in a fine red and gray leather, the craftsmanship is sure to draw your attention. The bench seat, dash, door panels, and even the roof of the cab are completed in a red leather with high quality contrasting stitching by the experts at HIDE Originals, LLC. A very ample Kenwood radio and sound system, as well as a Vintage Air air-conditioning system, have been installed to add to the overall cruising experience. The drab stock gauges in the dash have been replaced with a well-presented Dakota Digital instrument system.
This custom also boasts multiple awards, taking home first place for “Outstanding Engine” and “Outstanding Interior” at the 2019 ISCA Summit Racing Equipment Show. With a background of winning awards on a national scale, it should have no problems cruising in to future shows and making a lasting impression.
