This 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, Serial Number 002, is the second Hellcat that Dodge ever produced. With a 6.2-liter Hemi V-8 engine under the hood and over 700 horsepower, it was the most powerful American production car manufactured in the country upon its illustrious release. That, in and of itself, is more than enough to make this example the most sought-after on the market, but this particular Hellkitty is even more desirable because of its fascinating history; it hails from the personal collection of Richard Rawlings, owner of Gas Monkey Garage and host of Discovery Channel’s Fast N’ Loud TV show. One of Rawlings’ favorites, this Hellcat was stolen in Dallas, Texas. Consequently, the loss of the car and Rawlings’ entreating request for information on its whereabouts was all over the TV show and the internet. All hope seemed lost. Then, a familiar repo driver happened across the all-black ferocious feline in an industrial sector of Dallas. Rawlings showed up with his red key fob and a camera crew in tow to be reunited with his stolen Hellcat. He clicked the fob and the headlights came to life; it was his car. Documented on his hit Discovery TV show, the car was thoroughly inspected then minor, cosmetic repairs were completed with expert precision.
Today, the black-on-black beauty is as fresh and pristine as the day that Dodge handed Rawlings the keys and holds only 8,886 actual miles. The Hellcat is equipped with a formidable 6.2-liter Hemi V-8 engine, accompanied by a 2.4-liter supercharger, with 707 horsepower and 650 ft-lbs of torque. This equates to acceleration from zero to sixty in 3.5 seconds and 11.2 seconds on the quarter mile in street tires! The 2015 model boasts an enhanced eight-speed ZF 8HP automatic transmission as the five-speed automatic was retired in 2014. The wheel wells differ on the Hellcat from the standard SRT to accommodate striking, 20-inch aluminum wheels, which are dressed in black with an SRT logo at the center. Accompanied by two key fobs, the black fob limits the engine output to 500 horsepower while the red key fob unleashes all the horses for the ultimate powerhouse ride. With styling inspiration from the iconic 1971 Challenger including Quad LED ‘Halo Ring’ headlights, retro-style LED taillights and that racy Hemi hood intake, this pavement punisher looks as powerful as the proof found under the hood. This premium model has all the bells and whistles including power steering, power brakes, power locks, power seats and power windows among a host of other features.
This legendary, Serial Number 002, 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is a most desirable example with, by far, the most thrilling pedigree. Available for the first time, don’t miss the rare opportunity to own this truly iconic, modern American muscle car.
