Considered the Rolls-Royce of toy fire trucks in the 1950s, the Model Toys by Doepke American LaFrance ladder trucks were the dream toy of every junior firefighter. This lot presents two versions of this iconic toy. The body of our early version is straight with 95% paint in place and decals on the doors. It features the outriggers and cast aluminum main ladder which is raised by the turn of a black knob. Missing are one headlight, the auxiliary aluminum ladders, firehoses, and other loose accessories. The mechanism for extending the top ladder needs to be re-strung. The later version is about 90% paint and features stamped aluminum main ladder and was not equipped with outriggers. This ladder is raised manually but the extension ladder also needs to be restrung. It is also missing the auxiliary ladders and other accessories. Dimensions of both trucks are 34" L x 6" W x 8" H (with ladders in down position), lot of 2.
