This is a large 1950s Indianapolis style race car. Vehicle and driver are lithographed tinplate which includes detailed suspension, bright metal exhaust pipes and front grille, clear windscreen, knock-off style wheels and real rubber tires. Carries #98 and is decorated with knock-off sponsor logos similar in style to the real decals of the day. Driver wears a helmet and has the Mobil Flying Pegasus logo on his uniform. Car is sun-faded on right side of the vehicle, but all printing is readable. Produced by noted Japanese toy maker Yonezawa, tires are marked Sanyo Toys Co. Ltd. 18" L x 8" W x 6" H.
