3-litre straight six engine, 135 HP, four-speed manual gearbox with overdrive, independent front suspension with coil springs, live rear axle suspension, rear-wheel drive; wheelbase: 92”

The Austin-Healy 3000 was introduced to the public on July 1st, 1959, as the replacement for the 100-6 model, and it quickly won the hearts of those who partook in rallies and events alike. Changes between the models were quite minimal and the wheelbase and body were unchanged, but under the hood is where the 3000 really shined. The 100-6 was equipped with a 2.6-litre engine, while the 3000 was given a 3-litre BMC C-Series engine, which was a straight six that came from the minds of the Morris engine office instead of the Austin design team. The improvement made the car highly successful leading to multiple rally victories on the European circuit, and its success can still be seen today as many enthusiasts opt to take the 3000 model to their vintage car competitions and rallies.

Looking to be taken to the track with its rally lights already mounted to the front, is this nicely restored 1959 Austin-Healy 3000. Its small, lightweight body is painted in an appealing red and sits on chrome wire spoke wheels. The brightwork shines nicely throughout the body and a luggage rack is attached to the rear deck, adding to its overall sporty look.

The interior has a 2+2 seating arrangement and features black leather with tasteful red piping. The sporty cabin has black carpet and a black dash that highlights the wood grain steering wheel.

The straight six 3-litre engine presents extremely well and is in top performing condition. The engine is paired with a four-speed manual gearbox with optional overdrive. With that powertrain combination and an overall weight of only 2,550 pounds, you have one speedy machine that can easily maneuver tight corners at a quick pace.

Included with the sale of this Austin-Healey is the matching removable hard top, a spare tire and an assortment of original documents that include a “The Austin Warranty” sheet. The Austin-Healey 3000 on offer here is a fine example of the legendary model as well as an apt embodiment of everything enthusiasts love about the classic British sports car.
