With the later CL series, Honda went to a full cradle or more conventional frame, instead of using the engine as a stressed member. Now they had a five-speed transmission which made it even more flexible both on and off road. The high pipes were a very successful styling exercise. Honda was to use this engine platform across numerous models, although this one was “kick only". CL typically was Honda’s designation for Scrambler. These would be among the last, as Honda soon introduced their XL Scrambler series. A minor dent on the right-hand side and a scrape on the graphics are the only flaws on this 839-mile bike.
