In the early '60s, Meguro had been toying with a copy of the BSA parallel twin, the A-7. Around 1962, Meguro was bought by Kawasaki. The W-1 series was an evolution of this design and featured a 650cc engine. The engine components are almost identical to the BSA pre-unit twins. The Kawasaki featured a single Mikuni carburetor. The chrome side panels were also suggestive of its “British attitude". This bike has all of the correct cycle parts. There is distressing of the chrome on the muffler and some trim. The tank’s chrome is very good. 13,965 miles indicated.
