Virgil Exner continued to lead the way with improvements to the Chrysler 300 Series in both mechanical engineering and contemporary styling right into the mid-‘60s. The 300 Series was known for rocket-style tailfins, jet-like dash styling and equally impressive and intimidating performance. By 1961, styling excesses were being toned down and refined and the 300 cars began displaying these changes with powerful sophistication. The 300G lead the way for Chrysler to enter the exciting and streamlined ‘60s, and today, remains an icon of this exciting period.
