In the late '60s, the horsepower wars had begun in the Motocross world. Now the Japanese were easing into the market and Bultaco had many fronts to deal with. The 500cc class was now in the headlines. The British no longer reigned supreme with their large BSA, Matchless, and AJS singles. The new threat was the two-stroke engine. CZ dominated the open class with their 360cc engines. For their foray into this market, they introduced the 362cc El Bandito. Now their entry had 43 horsepower on a 250-lb. motorcycle. The unit on offer appears to be highly original. It is fitted with a Spanish Amal, as was common.
