It is impossible to say who influenced who in the design of classic automobiles, but Philip O. Wright was an original and this stunning dual cowl sport phaeton designed for the Duesenberg Model J chassis is a beautiful example of his talents. Similar to Riviera Phaeton created by Herman Bruss's firm, this car seems to be moving at 100 MPH even when standing still. This drawing commissioned by our consignor in the early 1970s shows how the artist used multimedia to create this drawing including the use of red construction paper on black paper background. Matted and signed in the lower right-hand corner. Some foxing and staining on the matting. Image 19" x 6", Matting 23" x 10".
