The Kit Mfg. Co. of Norwalk, California was created by C. W. "Bill" Worman and Dan Pocapalia who worked at Vultee Aircraft during WWII. They began building teardrop trailers of their own design in both kit-built form. Their trailers used surplus bomber aluminum skins and 15" Jeep wheels that had been salvaged off sunken ships. This delightful little trailer is one of their first products with a build date of January 8, 1947 and carries serial number S2297. It has an aluminum exterior formed over a wooden substructure mounted on an angle iron frame, the outside has a light coating of oxidization but no signs of rust or corrosion. It is fitted with two doors for easy access with interior walls of dark stained and varnished wood. The louvered rear panel lifts to reveal a cozy kitchen area and comes with a Coleman stove and other utensils. The fenders are stylish fiberglass replacements painted argent to blend with the exterior finish of the body and is riding on a set of Michelin-X 15" tires with vintage Atlas "Port-A-Wal" whitewalls and spun aluminum disc wheel covers. It measures 124" in length including the tongue, 62" wide and 53" high. Sold on Bill of Sale only. LOCAL PICKUP ONLY!
