CHASSIS NO: 242370Z135082

• Featured on MotorTrend TV’s “Bitchin’ Rides” by Dave Kindig
• Awesome pro-built custom GTO Judge
• Upgraded for all-around performance and handling
• Built with uncommon attention to detail and quality

GM Performance LS2 V-8 engine, Magnusson supercharger, 600+ HP, Tremec six-speed manual transmission, independent front suspension and live rear axle with coil springs and anti-roll bars, four-wheel Baer Racing cross-drilled and slotted hydraulic disc brakes; wheelbase: 115”

The 1970 Pontiac GTO, also known as “The Humbler,” in Pontiac’s provocative and highly effective ad copy that year, successfully continued the popular GM A-Body-derived long hood, short deck design that was introduced for 1968 for a third highly successful year. It retained the innovative flexible body-color Endura nose treatment, which was now attractively restyled with twin grille elements and four neatly recessed headlamps. Inside, standard bucket seats gained a new breathable weave upholstery pattern and both the console and dash panel were covered with woodgrain appliqué, befitting the GTO’s premium road-car stature within the Pontiac model lineup.

The image-leading optional Judge package returned for 1970, with wild fender stripes, a full-width pedestal-style rear spoiler, psychedelic "The Judge" identification decals and Silver-painted Rally II wheels without the usual trim rings. A cheeky anti-establishment statement on wheels inspired by the hit TV comedy show “Laugh In,” the Judge took all established muscle car conventions of the late 1960s and overturned them in one stroke. A 1970 Judge also nearly stole the show in “Two Lane Blacktop,” the cult classic film starring Brian Wilson, James Taylor, and Warren Oates, whose 1970 GTO Judge-driving character was known simply as "GTO" in the film credits.

While few would imagine the GTO Judge could be improved, this example was a featured subject on the popular MotorTrend TV show, “Bitchin’ Rides,” during Season 4. It has been modified by Kindig-It Design of Salt Lake City, Utah into a world-class restomod with a decided Pro Touring vibe. Enhancing the GTO’s classic styling are classic chrome smooth handles by Kindig-It Design, which combine nicely with other custom details including flush-mounted, paint-matched bumpers and custom exhaust cut-outs that upset the neighbors on command with a touch of a button, allowing the exhaust to exit before the mufflers. The body and paint work were performed to exacting standards by the team at Kindig-It Design and features PPG Mercedes Black with ghosted Silver “Judge“ graphics. Handling and road holding are far superior to stock capabilities, with this GTO upgraded with Global West suspension components and anti-sway bars to make going around corners much more fun. Braking is vastly improved to match, with the addition of Baer Racing four-wheel disc brakes with cross-drilled and slotted rotors front and rear. The wheels were supplied by Intro Wheels and measure a massive 18x8.5 inches up front and 19x12 inches at the rear, filling the GTO’s wheel wells nicely and allowing the use of wide, low-profile performance tires.

Powering this beast is an all-aluminum GM Performance LS2 engine that is topped off with a polished Magnuson supercharger to produce over 600 horsepower. Gear changes are accomplished with a Tremec six-speed manual transmission that truly makes driving this custom GTO a blast. The exhaust system is HPC coated and equipped with Flowmaster mufflers that provide a classic rumbling sound. The accessory drive at the front of the engine is polished for a great look. A large radiator ensures cool running and Vintage Air, power brakes and power steering deliver an enjoyable driving and cruising experience.

Inside this street machine is found luxurious, full-custom upholstery trimmed by JS Custom Interiors in black with Porsche Boxster Red leather accents. Fine details are in abundance, including hand-built trim items, engine-turned insert panels, a pushbutton starter, power windows, power-adjustable seats and a powerful audio system. The details continue throughout the interior compartment and into the trunk, which features matching upholstery and uncanny attention to detail. An outstanding build backed by star power, this Judge will be a cherished and unique addition to its next collection home.
